Ordinairement on regarde le soleil se coucher, on admire les nuages, les couleurs, mais on oublie très souvent de regarder au même instant ce qui se passe dans notre dos.
Il se passe parfois ceci. Un ou des rayons anti-crépusculaires convergent vers le point anti-solaire (point diamétralement opposé sur la sphère céleste à celui correspondant au soleil).
En barrant l'horizon au rayons du soleil, les nuages épais masquent ou bien laissent passer par les trous la lumière en direction du point opposé.
Ce phénomène n'est pas rare, mais il faut lever les yeux au bon moment!

Adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor so that you can see each step separately.
Pay more attention to the black steps here. The darkest step should be as dark as you can
make it while still being able to distinguish it from the next lighter step.
